The long-awaited event has a quota of 18,500 this year, with 4,000 for the full marathon, 6,500 for the half-marathon and 8,000 for the 10-kilometer race.

All runners are required to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the race. They are also required to stay in the city for at least 21 days before and get free virus tests within 72 hours prior to the race at designated locations.

At least half of the quotas for the three respective categories were reserved for runners who had successfully enrolled for last year’s scarped race.

Elite Entry is open for registration at 10 am on Aug 23. Public ballot entry will open at 10 am on Sept 2.

The start line for full marathon and half-marathon will be on the Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, while the 10 km race will, for the first time, kick off at Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza.

The finish line of all the three categories will be set at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay.

To encourage more runners to participate in this year’s event, the races will also be held in a virtual format from Oct 24 to Nov 14.
