HK sees 3 new imported virus cases, no local infections

HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported no new local COVID-19 infections for 11th straight day on Friday as health authorities investigated three new imported cases that pushed the city’s overall tally to 11,884.

The new patients involved a 38-year-old man flying from Cyprus and two 39-year-old women from Indonesia, according to a statement issued by the Centre for Health Protection.

One of the women developed symptoms on Wednesday while the other two patients remained asymptomatic, according to the CHP.

A total of 32 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, including three local cases, of which one was from an unknown source, the CHP added.

Since the citywide vaccination program began on Feb 26, more than 1.8 million Hong Kong residents have received at least one vaccine dose as of Thursday, including 1.2 million who have been fully vaccinated.
