HK reports no new COVID-19 infections

HONG KONG – Hong Kong reported no new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the 10th consecutive day that the financial hub had no local infections.

The Centre for Health Protection said in a statement that the city’s tally of confirmed infections stood at 11,881, with 210 related deaths. The last time that Hong Kong had no new local or imported cases was on Sunday.  

As of Wednesday, about 3,041,700 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Hong Kong

The CHP added that a total of 33 cases were reported from June 3 to 16, including three local cases, one of which was untraceable.  

As of Wednesday, about 3,041,700 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Hong Kong residents, with about 1,817,900 people receiving their first dose and around 1,223,800 getting their second dose, according to a government statement.

Among those who got their first vaccine dose, about 795,500 people received the Sinovac jab and about 1,022,400 people got the BioNTech shot.

For the second dose, about 507,200 people chose the Sinovac vaccine, while about 716,600 people received the BioNTech jab.
