CSL: Qingdao FC edges Cangzhou FC, Shenzhen FC beats Henan FC

JINAN - Qingdao FC got a victory in the Chinese Super League (CSL) new season by defeating Cangzhou FC 2-0, while Shenzhen FC beat Henan SSLM FC 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Qingdao FC narrowly avoided relegation with their 14th-placed finish last term, while Cangzhou Mighty Lions FC retained their place because of the dissolution of Jiangsu Suning.

The two sides have clashed on 10 occasions in the past and Cangzhou Mighty Lions has a better record.

On 53 minutes, with the assist of Zhu Jianrong, who was substituted just then, Qingdao FC's striker Zhou Junchen broke the deadlock.

In the second half, Diomande's shot on 66 minutes helped Canzhou FC net an equalizer. However, only two minutes later, Dejan Rajonjic's superb strike sealed Qingdao's win on this game.

In the other game, Henan SSLM FC was defeated by Shenzhen FC as Juan Fernando Quintero's two assists let Shenzhen grasp the victory. Buya Turay's shot used to tie the game, but they were not fortunate enough to win.

The CSL's upcoming games see Dalian Pro take on CC Yatai FC on Thursday, while Tianjin JMT FC will face Shanghai Port FC.
