Nepalese government prorogues parliament session

KATHMANDU - Amid a negotiation between the opposition parties in Nepal to unseat the incumbent KP Sharma Oli government, the cabinet on Monday prorogued the ongoing session of the parliament.

The house session began on March 7 after the decision of the Supreme Court to reinstate the House of Representatives overturning the December 20's decision of the government to dissolve the parliament.

"The president has prorogued the ongoing session of the House on Monday as per the recommendation of the government," Rup Narayan Bhattarai, spokesperson at the president's office, told Xinhua.
